Vendors:
Blue Ridge Bags and More, a small Asheville business managed by the Autism Society of North Carolina, will once again host a Y'art Sale next to their booth, featuring art and handicrafts made by persons on the autism spectrum. Click here to email Kelly Stamey for more information on how to get your art in the Y'art Sale! Other vendors include Centering on Children, Inc., Discovery Toys, Reliv, and Tasks Galore. Autism parent and professional groups having informational booths are the Autism Society of North Carolina, Autism Society Parent Support, Differently Abled News Network (D.A.N.N.), EPR Research Study, Full Spectrum Farms, Pediatric Therapy Solutions, TEACCH, Veritas, and WNC ABA.

Other Info:
The event is also a festival for all - with a great play area and children’s activities, autism information, great door prizes and snacks, old-time music, and lots of places to get away from the crowd. Ted E. Tourist, mascot of the Asheville Tourists’ baseball team, will make an appearance and run with the Tot Trotters, who will all receive a prize and ice-cream from The HOP. Hands on Health Massage Therapy will be present to soothe any aching runners’ muscles. Carrier Park is wheelchair and stroller friendly.

Snacks will be provided for the runners and walkers, the WNC Group Homes for Autistic Persons will be selling homemade cookies, and Bronze Sponsor Pepsi is providing a free soft drink for all. The kid in all of us will enjoy the sno cones, cotton candy, and popcorn provided by Friends of the Run, Mountain 1st Bank

A portion of this year’s proceeds will be allocated to the Sara Handlan Family Crisis Fund which provides aid to Western North Carolina families who are living with autism and in need of assistance. New this year is the Sara Handlan Award which will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on race day to an outstanding individual on the autism spectrum who is successfully employed in WNC. You may also remember or honor a loved one on race day by purchasing a paper sunflower ($1) and pinning it on Sara’s Wall of Sunflowers, along with displaying photos and mementoes.

Come join the fun at Asheville’s Carrier Park on September 20th!
